About Paint & Write the Town:

Paint & Write the Town is AiA’s signature and most popular summertime event. Artists of all skill levels, working in any medium, meet to create art “en plein air” that’s interpretive of one or more of the scheduled, inspiring locations in the Salem area. Poets of the Mid-Valley Poetry Society and others may join in to write about the sites. The event culminates with a juried exhibition with cash awards in the fall.

Artists in Action is pleased to announce that 2021’s Paint & Write the Town Exhibition of Art & Poems will be held during the month of October at the Bush Barn Art Center and Annex in cooperation with the Salem Art Association (SAA). We are excited about this collaboration between our local art organizations and are looking forward displaying the original works created during AiA's summertime en plein air event in their engaging, modern gallery space.

With this new exhibition opportunity comes a change to the event fees. Membership in the Salem Art Association is required to exhibit in their galleries. Because of this, an additional fee of $10 will be collected by SAA for a 1 year "SAA Exhibiting Artist" membership. This rate reflects a -$20 discount and is available ONLY to exhibiting P&WTT participants. NO additional fee required for those who are already SAA members. See Membership Benefits below.
